Looks great!

Question. Isn't the mic cord in the way when you grab it? Seems like having it behind the steering wheel would be kinda awkward?

Also, is that antenna one of the through-the-glass ones?

The cord's got enough stretch in it to be long enough, but not too long to get in the way - when it stretches a little I'll just reposition it as much as I can. It's tucked between the steering column and the dash pretty snuggly so it stays put well.
It is one of the through the glass antennas - works pretty well and you don't have to drill anywhere. The cable tucks away behind the plastic panels inside.

Does the radio hit your right leg when driving?? If not, that is one of the cleanest installs I have ever seen.. really nice.

Very clean install!! Those little radios work well for light/meduim duty use. I just went out in my rig after I saw your install and as much as I like how it looks, I would never be able to have mine there. I need a shoehorn to get out of mine as it is. Looks good though, watch out for those rest areas big boy! JMcD

Well, I'm 6'1" and I've not hit it once - haven't had the Disco upside down yet, but I can imagine that causing a prolem :)

well short people like you can deal with that. haha. i am 6'-3" and my knee is about 1" or 2" from that panel. i typically don't like having my seat way back. but regardless it works for you and looks nice. that is all that matters.

You're a darn mutant man! :) I tend to have the seat all the way back - so I guess that helps.

That reminds me, Why have a tilt steering wheel that only tilts about 1 f-ing inch? I can't tell you how many times I wish that wheel would get lift up a little more. JMcD

gp, I feel your pain. This is the first vehicle I've ever owned where my wife and I use the same seat setting (she's 5'9"). I'm 6'7" and my knee was always jammed into that space, until I shifted the seat back to the second set of mounting holes (I gained 3/4"!) Doesn't sound like much, but it makes a huge difference in how long I can spend in the saddle.

Oh, and Rick, good looking CB install, by the way...

My pictures are kinda lame but I love my Cobra install. attached it to the ash tray. Check my gallery Mike J.

The stash tray is still functional and hidden a little better.
