Although I am not a real LR Tech, I have played one on television. I have personally used a 1-1/4" wrench to remove the fan from my '93 RR and from a '95 D90. That is more like a 32mm rather than a 36mm size wrench. |

It's strange that you say this because when I did mine (91RR), I used an adjustable wrench about the size you describe. I am truly wondering if they are two different sized nuts. Someone elsewhere mentioned to me using a BMW tool that was 32mm on one side and 36mm on the other. I wonder if common practice for these to be one size or the other. -P |

Yes that was me. I thin wrench helps to make things easier. The tool was from Bavarian Auto for about $22. |

Did you use a standard or metric Adjustable wrench? It can make a big difference. What do you think Perrone? Mike 95' Disco |

Uh.. it was a Crescent, so I think it was SAE. Yea, I'm pretty sure it wasn't the metric one. Maybe that's why the fit was so loose. But then again, maybe my Detroit Locker made the nut on the fan get loose and strip out... -P |

I'm quiet sure that the 1 1/4 doesn't work on a 97 cause I bought one and the only way it would fit is if I pounded it over the bolt. I think it is a 36 mm..Any sugestions? Brian friend |

Curiosity got the better of me, I just went and checked mine with a dial caliper. 32mm it is. -P |
