I know this is a common subject, but I haven't read this fix so I wanted to post it.

When my fan switch recently crapped out, I attempted to get the replacement from Land Rover only find that you must purchase the entire assembly for $140. Being frugal, I turned their tempting offer down.

Doing a little research, I discovered that the rear AC switch assembly contains the same switch as the front, and that assembly can be purchased for $65 from Discount Rovers or $84 from the dealer. Not much of a savings, but I'd rather pay $85 than $140 for the switch. Removal and installation of the new switch is relativily easy and straight forward.

I am on the hunt to find a distibutor for that switch. Has anybody located one? If I find one, would anybody be interested in getting a switch for their truck? Ordering several switches could be less expensive than ordering my paltry one or two.

I could use one. I tried to take the old one apart and clean it. Improved a little, but switch is still tempermental.

It's a Siemens switch, I have the numbers somewhere, but didn't have any luck finding one. My fan has a toggle switch attached to it, after replacing the OEM switch twice.

Refitting a different switch is difficult as the circuit requires one relay to be energized for low speed, and while that relay is hot, switching others in as the fan speed increases. I figured a two speed system was better than none.

Peace,
Paul

Hi Paul,

I have the Siemens part number for the switch, just having problems locating someone who carries, or can get the switch.

I haven't given up yet! This switch can't cost more than $20 from a distributor, I just have to find him!

You know, that toggle switch hanging out of the dash on my truck works pretty good!
