I want limb risers but dont want to pay 210.00 for them. Anyone have any to sell for the disco 1 or a cheaper place to buy them. I heard you can make them yourself at home depot, out of strong steel cable, BS or not??? |

I made mine for $10.00 or so from Orchard Supply. I must run out the door now but I can post more later. |

Hey JC, Check out the tech section of discoweb. Someone (sorry I didn't see who wrote the article) made a set of limb risers from stuff they bought locally. It isn't difficult (unless you make it difficult) and people will think that you spent 200 bucks on limb risers when in fact you only spent about 15 bucks. Max T. |

Just check out the article, it will give you the basic idea, and if you want to change something your talking less than $20 even if you have to start over, so play with it and figure out what you like. Do you have a roof rack? Whats your front bumper? AKA, what are you mounting them to? |

Some one posted a link one time to a marine supply that carries a much nicer looking and thinner turnbuckle than the ones from Home Depot. While I think they were @ $15 each, I would redo mine using them for a cleaner look. Hopefully someone will post the link again or email it to me and I will ask Ho to update the write-up. http://us.binnacle.com:80/online/product.asp?dept%5Fid=15330&pf%5Fid=23538 gives the price in US dollars. This is from The Binnacle, in Halifax Nova Scotia. They're a great store and great guys. Anyway, these are tubular stainless steel turnbuckles. You can also go to www.binnacle.com, then click sailboat hardware, then turnbuckles. |
