I just got back from a week of touring around Death Valley and the surrounding desert. After 5 days of bumpy back roads, my disco is rocking, rolling and bouncing all over. It feels like the shocks are wasted. I installed OME MD springs and OME shock a few months ago, only have 5k miles on them. The vehicle was smooth and tight for the ride down, but now it's all over the place. It feels like the rear end of the truck is all mushy and wants to squirt out when going over road bumps and when cornering. Could I have blown out the shocks this easily or is there something else I should check? Any comments? Thanks, Dave |

You should check the nuts which are holding the shocks to their mouning points. Also check the shock bushings. I think they are supposed to be polyurethane which should be tough bushings. It should only take 15 minutes to remove one of the rear shocks for testing. Test by examining for leaks and soft spots in the travel. It is also possible that your suspension bushings may need replacing, and the bumpy desert roads did them in. Randall |
