How much toe in do you run on your Disco?

If toe-in is the same term used in automobile maintenance as it is in bicycle maintenance, I believe he is referring to the angle which the brake shoe hits the rotor. At least that's what toe-in is in bike repair.

nO, tOE-IN is the front wheels pointing inwards a little to help steering stability etc. If they are dead parallel, the steering feels odd, and wanders etc.RR and Discos usually run 2-3mm toe OUT, I think because the fronts are driven, they tend to pull into a toe in angle.

I once took a RR to a shop here for alignment - man had a big shiny drive on thing with lighhts and mirrors etc, very impressive. No problem he says, drive it on. He climbs underneath, I am watching. Then he gets out a tape measure, an adjustable wrench and a pair of stilsons. What are you going to do? I says. Give it 3 mm toe in, he says. Why ? Because everybody gets 3mm toe in he says.
Not this little black duck says I, and departed rapidly for other scenery.

My shop manual says o-2 mm TOE OUT. Which is what I believe is about right on most rigs. I have set the toe on a couple of my trucks and on a normal sized tire, about 1 inch toe out seems to work fine. DONT set it at toe in, that makes it real scary in the wet!! Good Luck JMcD
