If you call any LR dealer and give them your VIN#
they should be able to give you the code. Or they may want you to physically come in to show proof of ownership. It is a 5 digit code.

When I had mine looked up the girl said "its 1234" for that's what the computer showed. I replied "No - it should be 5 digits". Then I was told I would have to bring it in and have the radio "pulled" (cost ?? "I don't know"). A friendly LR mechanic was walking by and he came out and pulled it for me, got the serial # and had the code within 2 minutes (no charge).

I just called my dealer, asked for the service dept. When I got ahold of someone who turned a wrench, I told them my problem. They were very helpful. I have found that talking to the person that answers the phone is not always the best way to get help. The service guys at the Louisville, KY dealership are great. If you can't get the code elsewhere, call them, they should help.

Open your glove box, look at the barcoded strip on the left hand side, copy the last five digits under the bar code, and that's it.

Carter, it is correct for a 2003 Disco II. I've had to use it twice due to some fuse/electrical problems, and my "Sales Guide" told me the secret.

Ray,
That must only be for the new discovery's. The 96 has a bar code but the numbers do not work. The numbers on mine are 36510 and of course you can type 0 on the radio. Thats pretty cool that the new one have that though. Makes it easy for you if you lose the code. I talked to a Sales Rep at Land Rover and he said he would get back to me if he can find the number, but never did. I guess I'll try back tommorow. Thanks for the info.

Andrew,
On my rig, its a 19-digit code, the letters BE followed by 17 numbers. There is also a * preceeding and following the code. Perhaps they have changed their coding, but it sure does work on the '03 Disco. Good luck and happy trails.

Drew -

Assuming you have a D1 it's 5 digits.

You can remove the radio yourself to get the serial # if needed (7 or 8 allen I think) but the dealer should be able to look it up via computer with your VIN#. If you can't get a return phone call, call another dealer.

Andrew -

If the dealer doesn't help or wants to charge you try Land Rover North America it may take a day or two but I've had good luck with questions like this one. 800.637.6837

Thanks guys,
Got in touch with the dealer but the # they gave me did not work. I tried to clear the radio by keeping the key in the I position for 2 hours and it still did not work. I will pull the radio and get the serial numer and give LNRA a try. Thanks for the help.

Hey Andrew, don't go to all that trouble. Call LR dealership of Portland, Oregon. Give them your VIN and they will give you the code and by all means should work. I've done it and a few other Disco owners I know have done it there. Won't cost you a dime either.

Here's the number: 503-230-7700 - Ask for Gary Glaze. He's the service manager and will make sure you get the right code and not get charged for it.

Raf:
It's a security code so that if your radio is stolen, the thief must call Rover to get the code so it will work.
