Search archives. It is done through an ODBII reader. |

The Service Engine light means that you are throwing a code and need to have it reset by an OBDII reader. Completely different between DI's and DII's. Autozone can tell you what is wrong for free. If you need immediate info for your truck alot of questions can be answered through the archives. You will have to do some searching but more than likely it is there. You can ask but there are alot of new people that are on the board that has forgotten what it is like to be a newbie. Regards, Charles |

Autozone read the codes and the codes are for the both o2 sensors. What can I do? Any other way to reset the lights? |

Is your truck running bad? Have you replaced the sensors? If you feel your sensors are in need of replacing contact Nathan at Discount Rovers. You can try and offer the guy at Autozone some cash to reset the codes. My guy here does it for free. |

The truck is running fine. No problems. Let me try to get the autozone guy to reset the codes. Thanks for the help.

how many miles do you have on the vehicle? I was told at 52K that light comes on automatically for DIIs. Does anyone know if you have to actually replace anything? . The dealer told me it would be about $300 - sounds about right they turn off some codes and sit around for the next 2.75 hours and charge me for it. |

My dealer told me thast on the 97 discos, the red service engine light also comes on at 85,500 miles for the Oxygen sensors. They don't automatically replace them, but it certainly gives them an excuse. There are four sensors, and I think the dealer price is around $150. |

Why aren't you going to the dealer? You should still be under warranty unless your car was totalled, a buy-back or some other strange reason. |
