Yesterday I changed the coolant on my 60k DII. All according to the shop manual. During the procedure, as per directions, I was running the heater on HI, and it was working very well, however, later that night, the air comming out of the HV/AC unit would get no warmer than ambient!

The engine is just fine, comes up to, and stays at normal temp just as it always has.

At first I thought perhaps some gunk had dislodged and blocked the heater core, or maybe an air lock, but then I noticed that the flow of air out of the HV/AC unit was less than normal, like it was only flowing air through the A/C part of the system.

Any ideas? Will I damage anything by driving it?

I am not a pro, but I have delt with something like this before. I would not drive the car if the temperature of the car is high. However, if the car runs fine and your only problem is the ventalation then maybe you should look into backtracking evrything you did. I dont believe it will damage the car if it is not causing it to overheat. These are 2 different systems and it could be something as simple as a blower fan or a thermostat. Good luck,

Well, I did the coolant change by-the-book, and it was working during that...

Also, I've since bled the system of air bubles, as described in the shop manual, and also reset the computer via battery disconnect. Still no heat.

The A/C works just fine, and it seems like it reduces air flow when I turn the heat up... Maybe a stuck damper in the mixing chamber?
