When cold the gearshift to reverse or drive is soft and smooth. When hot there is a big slag when engage into reverse or drive. 133k done and universals and drive shafts still good condition. Rubber on drive shaft to rear diff also good. Seems to be to do if all is warmed up. Please advice.

A big lag? if the filter is recently changed and the fluid is good, not sure I'd worry about that |

Sounds familiar - I had a '95, and I never felt as if I could start driving right away in D or R. I always had to wait a second or two for reverse or drive to engage. It became such a habit that I still do it with my 2002. |
