I just returned from a 120 mile ride and noticed that my speedometer is off. Tracking speed and distance with my new GPS, my odometer was within a half mile of the GPS as far as measuring distance. My speedometer seemed to be off at a linear rate, the faster I went the more error it has. At 65mph on the speedo the GPS was indicating 60.8mph, 70 on the speedo was 65 even on the GPS. At the other end of the scale, 30 mph gave me 27.4 on the GPS. All in all it's not a bad thing, odometer is accurate, and speedo reads high instead of low, but it is interesting all the same. I should mention before it gets asked 30 times, I still have the stock size tires on 235/70/16. Any ideas? Mike G. 96 Disco SD |
