Hey all- I don't have my RAVE handy but need to know how much to torque the bolts that hold the LR D2 trailer hitch. Thanks! |

Koby, I can't find it in Bentley's D2 book, but I recently removed a bolt from my D2's hitch and it was damn tight. Looking at the information that I do have, several suspension components run in the 170 ft/lb range, lugs nuts are 103 ft/lb, crankshaft pulley bolt is 199 ft/lb and at the extreme end is the axle drive shaft nut at 360 ft/lb. Mine had some type of thread locker applied as well (hitch came on mine - not sure if they are dealer or factory installed, but it's the LR hitch) Hope the helps some -FWIW I don't think you can get them too tight using hand tools and a 10" or so ratchet handle. I probably wouldn't go crazy with a big bar or air tools, but as tight as you can absolutely go by hand should be fine. That's what I had to do to get mine as tight as it was before I removed it. |

Jack- Thanks. I just got finished searching in my RAVE and my parts catalogue and couldn't find any specs. I'm just going to liberally apply thread lock and torque it down with the breaker-bar. |

Craig - when I took it off of my truck, I used a 10" wrench, and had to put a foot up on the frame for leverage. I'd guess it was in the very tight lug nut range, so let's say 150 ft/lb at most. jim |
