I have the 18 inch wheels on my disco and have the opportunity to trade evenly for a set of 16 inch wheels. Are there any opinions on whether this would be a smart trade. Thanks

If you intend to modify it for off-road use, yes, trade for the 16's. You'll have better tire choices. Off-road, you want a taller sidewall to allow the tire to conform to the terrain. For on-road, you want a smaller (lower) sidewill to prevent flex during cornering. All depends on what you plan on doing with your Disco.

Will, my ACE rig came with the 18's. I was able to buy a set of five 16" mirage rims for around $350 used (but like new). And sell my 18" rims used for around 1K.

Do trade the wheels, but make sure you get what's fair, given how much existing mall crawlers want for those silly rims.

Hey Dave, have you had any problems or did you have to do anything special for the ACE system and the 16 in wheels?

Will, I too have a 99 DII with ACE and went to 16 in wheels with 265-75-16 tires. Also OME springs and shocks. Have encountered no problems with the ACE. The truck does well off road.
