I am installing these today and have a question about the rear 762 springs. I notice that they are tighter wound at one end. Does it matter which end goes up? Thanks for your help! Ken |

If you put the coils which are closer uptop, you will have more room to get that spring retainer back in which goes on the bottom. |

Yeah, I don't know which way. I put them on, tighter wound to the top and a buddy came over and questioned it. I wasn't sure when I put them on but went by what I thought made more sense. I would be interested in seeing what everyone has done. I couldn't find a post on this one before! Thanks guys, Ken |

i have the same springs on my '01...tighter loops on top. i talked john at expedition exchange and he suggested that the wisdom was the looser wind would allow more axle movement and freedom at extension than the tighter winds. but he also said he thought that may be bullshit. but you have to install it one way and at least there is some "alleged" logic to tight on top. mike |
