Last week I was having a problem with my tailgate on my 2000 DII not opening up from the inside or outside handles. It just fixed itself over a couple days and has been fine since... What I have figured out is how the problem occurs. If I try and open up the tailgate (from the outside lever) while the car is still locked, the lever stays up - and obviously the tailgate doesn't open up - then if I unlock the car from the remote, jiggle the lever to come back down, and then try the handle again, it doesn't work!!! Then I end up with the same problem that I had last week. The last time it sorta just undid itself in a couple days...I'll see what happens this time. Can somebody else with a DII try what I described above and tell me if they get the same result? It doesn't seem right that if the car is locked, and I pull the lever, it should release back - and I assume that is what screws things up as it is unlocked..... Thanks in advance, Will |
