WHAT? No Discovery TD? For some reason, I can't see the RR being successful in the US in diesel form. The clientele that buys RR seems different somehow. However, I think that the Disco would really sell. I know that I would have bought one in 98. Of course sometimes I wonder if I shouldn't have waited 6 or 8 more months and gotten a D2. None the less, I like my D1. |

I think diesels will sell very well, because of the reliablity epecially if they have decent perfomance.

The TD6 Rangies are here in Australia and they go real well, quiet and plenty of power, In fact I read a road test down here were the tester reckons after driving it for a while he forgot which car he was driveing the oiler or the V8. Do you blokes get TD5 Discos in the US? |

No, we're not allowed to play with toys like that over here! I think that even MB, audi and volvo have taken the diesel toys from the US.

2005 Disco will be the new model...therefore no sneak peaks.....I'd jump for a TD4 Freelander If you want to get a ride in a TD5 defender go to Busch Gardens in Florida |

It's a shame they don't let have the TD5 Discos. They get 850km to a tank of fuel I think thats about 30mpg in US terms and they go Ok. TD5 don't have the same Turbo lag as the TDi engines in the D1 cars, you can get power chips and stuff for the TD5 in Oz that makes them pretty close to the V8 in power. I still stick with the V8, though a couple of my mates have oilers. |
