Anyone ever fixed a power window before? I heard a loud "clunk," as if something had fallen inside the door panel, and now the window won't go all the way up (about 1" open space at the top). Am at work now so I haven't had a chance to look in the door panel, but does this sound familiar to anyone?

Thanks in advance,

Andy

Disregard -- this is what happens when someone who's been visiting DWeb for almost 2 years panicks...

Yes, indeed, I read the tech section.

Thanks again D-Web!

it is not s big deal.... take a deep breath and say HOOOOOO! ;)

ok.. it is simple. take a screw driver and open up your panel.(unscew the handle and things first) gently remove the plastic tar thingy. look at you slider the run horizontal connected at the bottom of the window. see if the plastic peice off the control arm is broken into peices inside the slider arm. if so simply take out the motor and arm assembly, then take off the slider arm. take out the broken peices. now replace it. now bend the control arm enough so the metal noch will fit into the slider (test fit until you get it right. ) then fully re-install it.

it takes about 15min for new guys.

So, following the above, I don't need to replace my shattered plastic piece? Or do I still do that?
