I might be shipping a truck from Virginia to Denver, Co and have been recommended to a compnay called DAS. Dependable Auto Shipping? I think is their name. They will charge around $600 for shipping and offer insurance for around $90 that covers up to $50,000 in damages.
looking for anyones experiences or insight into Auto shipping.

I had a perfect experience shipping my newly purchased Disco with a roof rack installed from OR to IL. No problems, cost $800. DAS is good because they are the ONLY auto shippers who have their own fleet of trucks. Everyone else uses brokers, therefore, when they say two weeks to ship, you might not see your car for six. DAS is much safer than the others, as far as I know from my own research and experience. |

I have used a company called Gold Rush many many times, and have been pleased every time. We usually use them about once a month where I work, and haven't been disappointed yet. They use there own trucks. I think some of the prices have been a little higher. I might be a little off, but I think the last car we had shipped was about $1000 from Las Vegas to Cincinnati, although the insurance for that car was a lot more than $50,000. Just giving you my experience. FWIW

FWIW
I have two co-workers that had very good experiences with DAS. One was a Ducati Motorcycle from UT to NJ and another co-worker used them twice already - a 64 Chevy P/U from OK to NJ and a 62 Pontiac Catalina from FL to NJ. All those transactions were winning bids from eBay. DAS is also eBay recommended and they do have their own fleet.

As does Reliable Carriers which primarily haul the show cars around the country for the manufactures. I have used them for a few trips and have been very satisfied. The one very nice aspect is the driver will call you when he is about an hour out from your house. Each time the vehicle has been delievered within the hour. Enclosed or open is available.
