CD changer not working

The symptoms are that when you go to turn on the CD the radio indicator will show CD for about a second then immediately go back to the radio. I have checked the archives but to no avail, also checked the fuse to see if it was loose. Make sure that the CD Changer is connected on both ends and both connectors at the cd changer are connected. Make sure the cd changer is getting power (small white connector). If that doesn't work ...looks like an internal board problem or bad cable. If it is not fixable at a resonable cost... let me know. I am looking to buy one for parts...mine has a bad motor.
