Started up the Disco this morning and the radio wasn't working. Checked the usual suspects - fuse, wiring - and everything appears to be fine. Periodically, after the truck as been off for a bit, when I start it and then turn on the radio, the screen on it flashes "CODE" for about 1/4 second before going dead again. After that, turning it on and off meets with no response. Any ideas what might be causing this?!? Or is this an opportunity to junk it for a decent after market unit? |

Check your battery. The radio has a anti-theft code that has to be punched in if it has lost power. If you disconnect the battery, or if your battery dies, then the code is dropped. If you have paperwork from your dealership, it may have the code on it, or, you can call and get it. -L

I have the code, and have had to enter it in the past when the battery was disconnected. Now the "CODE" screen flashes once very briefly and then goes dead. I can't enter anything at all because it doesn't stay on long enough to get anything entered (and I can only get the screen to flash if the truck has been off for several hours, otherwise it is just plain dead). |

I have a 2002 DicoII with a factory Becker radio (CD - Navigation options). It has gone dead in the past, there is a "three-finger salute" that restores or resets the radio. If you have the same model, try the following buttons. TP - mem1 - mem3 at the same time for approx. 3-8secs. Good Luck |

Go figure...it turned out to be a fuse for my rear a/c! It seemed to be working fine, so I didn't even bother to check the fuse for it at first. I will never even pretend to understand why a fuse for rear a/c shut off my radio and dome lights and turned the dome light switch to an on/off switch for my clock. |
