Lots of good places, see the resourses section of in this site. Just call around for the best prices.

So far, I have had good sercice out of the guys from Atlantic British,(where I bought my manual,
Rovers North, and British Pacific. They seem to be decently price competitive.

I also suggest a parts manual when you can find one if you are going to be doing a lot of work.

Thanks for the input I have been dealing with Lyman at Atlantic British for most things. I was just wondering if anyone knew of a better place for the books.

I like AB but they're a bit pricey. Go to http://www.4by4connection.com/landrover2.html and save yourself $50. I've got both the Workshop Manual and the Haynes. Although the Haynes covers the 96 Model Year, it ommits the ignition system specifics for 96. Nice, book to have though.

Is the shop manual similar to Haynes? I was considering buying it but wasn't sure how it rates compared to the Haynes manual.

Workshop Manual is 2"thick and is much more comprehensive than Haynes. Workshop Manual is written more for someone who knows what they're doing and what they're looking for. Haynes is good for general maintenance and basic trouble shooting. I have both because I start off putzing around with the Haynes, get in trouble, then find my way home with the Workshop Manual. :-)

I never go to the parts store without my Land Rover shop manual. It is a must have.
