Ok then, Finally got a day when it wasn't raining and got to put on the new Bilsteins. The ride is Sooo much better! Its unbelievable the differnce new shocks have made! Its better than new and smooooooth.... Got about a half inch of rise and it only took about 4 or so hours. Would take alot less the next time. We only had 44K on our D2 but this is worth the $/effort.

I am considering changing the shocks and springs on my D1 (79K miles) and have been going back and forth between the OME, Bilstein's and the Woodheads. Did you do a lot of research first? How difficult was it to put them on?

They are not hard to put it, just go look in the Tech section on the shock install, it give a step by step instilation instructions that might help you. But I have OME shocks and rovertym springs, and the set up is great!!

I'm not very experienced with shocks/springs until I realized I needed to change mine. How do you know what combination/brands of shocks/springs to use? Is there really that big a difference between these?

It depends on what you want man. Go to the EE site or call them up, or you could call John up at Rovertym, they will both help you out. They have a vast knowleage and will help you out.
