Getting my wife a sat radio setup for her b-day. Her Disco is a 2000. What are people using for an antenna? I'm not real keen on drilling holes in the bodywork or messing with window seals. Also, does anyone have the wiring diagram for the stock radio or is it easy to figure out?? I have the old electrical manual from the '96 Disco - similar?? Is anyone using the Delphi unit and where is it being mounted?? I'd like to keep it off the top of the dash. Any other hints or tips on the installation?? I saw one of the recent posts on an alarm problem after installation and I've seen some notes on shops burning out the head units. Thanks! Jason.

I ran my ant. wire down the sunroof window. It has never leaked. Is the Delphi a FM Mod? If so you will not need the wiring diagram, but if you do email me and I can sent it to you. |

What interior parts have to be removed to run the wiring from the sunroof window? Where did you mount your unit(the sat unit, that is!)? Jason. |

What about putting the unit on the "ceiling" map pockets like a trucker?? I don't have the Disco handy and can't remember what kind of space is there. There should be power because of the lights, but maybe a problem running the antenna wire to the head unit. Jason. |

I ran my GPS antenna wire through my firewall, and up the side of the windshield... it was quite painless. My gps antenna is magnetic mount, so I just stuck it above the windshield. If your sat radio antenna is similar, you can prob do the same thing. I've got some wiring notes on my 2001 DII. I don't know if the wire colors are the same as your 2000, though. I had to trace out all the wires when I installed my autopc, since nobody had wire colors available. Hope these work for you: illumination - red/brown fulltime power - violet accessory power - green/violet amp remote - red/blue ground - black speakers: rear left pos - black/yellow rear right pos - black/green rear left neg - black/orange rear right neg - black/blue front left pos - black/white front right pos - black/tan front left neg - black/brown front right neg - black/red I used wire taps to tap each wire, leaving the stock connectors untouched. I put blade connectors on the tapped wire leads and on the stock harness leads giving me a 'quick disconnect' in case I want to put the stock radio back in quickly. Good luck! -Tommy |

"What interior parts have to be removed to run the wiring from the sunroof window?" I ran the wire into the rear sunroof. I had to remove the seat belt upper bolt, the trim piece behing the rear door, the plastic sills along the carpet (front and rear) and the pass. kick panel. Pretty easy. I first mounted the sat. receiver under the passinger seat, but it got wet in a mud hole and fried the unit. I got a new one and mounted it under the dash. |

I use a Terk magnetic antenna mounted in the rear center of the car (its magnetic). I run the wire down the molding (you can pull it out and put the wires in there) to either side and then put then thru to the rear cargo bin. I mounted the XM unit in the rear cargo bin. Hope this helps |
