I have several devices powered by cigarette lighter adapter, but I can't seem to keep the adapters in the socket to save my life!

Is there any particular reason the lighter adapters don't fit as snugly in the lighter as they do in other cars?

I have that same exact problem. Haven't figured out a solution yet though.

RadioShack sells a kit of inserts that slide into the outlet. It comes with a few different sizes. just a couple bucks, and snugs it all up quite nicely. My 400E is the same way, but never had the problem in any of my Rover's for some reason.

i have noticed on both discos that i have had that the green edge light around the lighter does and will break. when this happens it loosens the whole socket. i just use a phone and that is it and don't have a problem. just a bit loose that is all.

This is a common problem on cars that come from the other side of the pond. The RadioShack kit is your solution.

Cigars. They were origanally for cigars. Look how big the opening is, they're not cigarette lighters.

Didn't say I was 'Cool', said you were anal...
I know perfectly well what it's 'officially' called, but really, who cares if it's cigarette or cigar. does it really make that much difference to you? Apparantly so.
Got anything better than that to add there Anon?
How about some helpful advice instead of grammatical corrections...

Who cares what the hell it's called officially, my adapters still don't fit whether it's a cigarette lighter or a friggin' cigar lighter.

I have the shim in my possession. I'm going to try it out now. Thanks!

craig, i wasn't being a tight ass when i said they were for cigars, it was more an explanation for Koby as to why nothing fits, in case he didn't know. i had the same problem and then someone told me. wasn't being anal or trying to sound that way. Geeees. who cares anyway. problem solved.
