Is anyone running these shocks? I am looking for comparisons on how firm they are (particularly rebound damping) compared to the Bilstein 7100 in 360/80 or the OME HD. I am running OME MD now and they are not firm enough for my springs.

Thanks,

-P

I have seen a two page ad recently in Four Wheeler magazine procalaiming a new shock for off-roading(can't remember the brand right now).
They are gas charged, but with a six? position adjustable setting, and I think they are long travel too.

Would you mind checking this out since you already have a strong interest in the subject?

Well,

To be honest, I won't touch ANY shock with adjustable settings unless its a Koni. Manufacturers do it because its an easy way to get around the engineering of proper valving techniques.

There just aren't many mass market shocks for 4wds that are worth a damn. OME and Bilsteins are almost in a class by themselves because of pricing. I wouldn't mind having a set of Kings but I can't justify parting with that kind of cash.

If you find out who makes those shocks, I'd like to see them though.

Edlebrock has a decent shock. Has an "automatic" self sdjusting valving system in them. Well, I'm ashamed to admit it, but I used to have a couple of Wranglers and these shocks worked well in them.

I've seen the Edelbrocks. Unfortunately, they don't list much tech info on them. I have the actual Edelbrock catalog and it gives some info, but not nearly enough to make an informed decision about fitting them to my truck.

They're pretty pricey too..

I have to leave now, but will be back on Monday with info about the new shocks advertized in Four Wheeler.

That is why it is easy to choose Ranchos. They provide info on each part#, and they are easy to buy also.

Perhaps it is easy for you to choose Ranchos, but I find it less so. I have yet to be able to get valving information on any model of Rancho, and that information is critical if you are going to properly match them to your springs.

Just because you know what length they are and what ends they have, doesn't mean it's the right shock for the application.

The new 6 position adjustables are by ProComp.
