My rear differential has developed a leak where the u-joint is connected to. Is this something I need to worry about or just add the oil in from time to time? I really hate to take it apart to just fix a little leak. Thanks |

Pinion seal leaking - check for blocked breather hose before replacing. If it is a bad seal - yes, replace it! If oil can get out, water can get in. Check to see if your gear oil is milky. Bill |

Do you need to remove the 3rd member for the seal replacment? Also, do you need a special tool? |

Dead easy - you'll use less than an hour. Article on Ottos pages: http://home.halden.net/discovery But blocked breather is more likely, as Billb suggest. Roverly Yours, Frode |

I checked my breather already and it looks fine. Thanks for the link. It is much appreciated. |
