Do any of you have a gun rack on your discoveries? What works? I need to figure out a system, I"m tired of my rifle bouncing around the floor in the back...any ideas?

Ahhh just have mah chilluns hold em fer me, on account of I needs em handy to shoot street signs.

Seriously, I don't like guns out without the protection of a case. I use hardened travel cases, sometimes when I'm alomst empty, I bungee the cases down to the tie downs.

Around here to be really cool, a rack alone will not cut it. ones needs the obligatory "calvin peeing on the number of that other NASCAR driver" sticker... the front of your rig must also be festooned with upright PVC pipes to hold your surf rods. Mickey Thompson Baja/"thorn bird" tires as wide as they are tall on cheap wheels help also.

Obviously I have some issues I need to work on with my therapist, sorry.

I cabellas sells one that hooks to the back of the driver and passenger seats (using the headrest I belive). that way you can store them cross ways right behind the front seats. Takes up very little room and the back seat is still functional. You might want to take them out before taking those important clients to lunch, however.

I just tote my shotguns in hard sided cases in the back. I don't usually carry anything but my .380 unless I am off on a quail hunt or at the sporting clays range.

Cool...I'm wondering if theres one that maybe attaches behind the back seats...lately, the rifle is just in a gunbag on the floor and I'd just prefer to have them secured...for less than the cost of the gun...

I have seen someone modify a Genuine Dog guard to hold guns

I'm very seriously thinking about fitting a gun rack to my D90. I like these types of racks that fit to the ceiling:

I definitely want a ceiling gun rack because they are just about ideal with the D90 SW's interior roll cage. I'm just not certain as to exact make I want to buy. the Wattcco shotgun mounts are considerably slimmer than the semi-auto rifle mounts, and I think my Super 90's would fit in there just fine.

Dee,

I wasn't planning to drive around town with a Super 90 attached to the roll cage. It's more for trips and such. And don't worry. EE is already well protected.

Parking lot security? Who mentioned the parking lot security? I was alluding to security of a different kind.

Cabellas has two of them. One is the traditional rubber covered metal hooks that hangs over the rear seat and holds three guns. It's part number is HB-22-1305 and is 24.99.

The other is "soft sided." It looks like neoprene or nylon. It is two pieces - one hanging off the back of each front bucket seat. THe guns slide into pockets. It will also hold 3 guns. Part number is HB-22-3334 and the price is $49.99.

I like the 2nd one. However - my personal solution is to use a hard sided case (the kind that goes on an ATV) and toss it in the back. It fits perfectly between the wheel wells of my 4Runner. (Yes - I'm lurking here)
