Hey, I have a 98 disco and it has a bad air conditioning comp. diagnosed by the dealer. I picked one up from a salvage yard for $30.00 (via E Bay) saving my self $870.00, if it works properly? So here's my question do I have to pay my LR dealer the $400.00 to install or can I have a a/c shop do it for the estimates of $150-$200. They seem like they know what they are talking about and say that air dryer is interchangeable with a couple of other vehicles that they can get easily . I know nothing about a/c so I'm ripe for the raping from bad shops so can any of you give me some advise. Can any a/c shop do it? My local LR shop is great but expensive so I have to check around on this one. thanx for the help |

I had a used compressor installed about 3 months ago. Now it's leaking at the front seal and lost all my freon. My advice--dump the used one and find a really good/experienced A/C shop to put in a new one. |
