98 disco with 63,000 miles. One of the cats is making a terrible racket. I know they are warrantied until 80000 miles but the closest dealer is 2 1/2 hours away and I really dont want to drive all the way there for someone in the service department to give me the runaround on whether or not it is covered regardless if it did not fail emmisions. My question is, if I were to cut it off and gut it then re-weld it back on, would I mess up the O2 readings of the sensor? Where the disco is registered there are no emmision tests other than visual. Any other concerns I should be aware of? Thanks for the help. |
