Hi Gang,

My local NAPA only has DEXTRON 5. They say I can use it with no problems in my 96 Disco. Is this ok to use or do I need to find Dextron 3?

You can use it but your HP422 will live a longer life if you dispense with the dino products and use a synthetic ATF. Try Mobil or Redline.

NO!

Every failure I have seen in a ZF (there have not been many) has been related to someone putting synthetic into a old (ie not new) tranny.

stick with dino (preferrabley the LR recommended texaco ATF)
