On the highway in fourth gear only, with or w/o cruise, while going uphill or just cresting a hill, it feels like the transmission is jerking. You can't hear it, but you can feel it, passengers have even commented on it. It almost feels like the trany is slipping. It does not occur when going down hill or during level ground acceleration, only when trying to maintain speed up hill or cresting one. Can anyone shed some light on my problem? |

Assume you've checked fluid level, and it and filter have been changed at proper interval? Could it be the dreaded sticking exhaust valve? Ours manifested itself as you described, but it did it on level ground at highway speed. |

I had the same thing happen to me , it feels as though the car is jerking usually when I'm on the hwy going above 85km per hour . I took a look a the spark plug cables and notice the connectors at the spark plug ends were loose , a pair of needle nose pliers were used to tighten them up and the problem seemed to go away . You should also check and make sure that the quick connectors to the distributor cap are clean and have a good contact . I've been told that when the truck is under a load as in higher speeds or when going up hills if there is a problem with the spark it can cause symptoms similar to what your describing . Not a guarantee but if it will save you some $$$ before going to the dealer it's worth a try. Anyone else please feel free to correct me. Ken |
