Thomas, Turn it harder, seriously, turn it harder untill either it comes off or the tube that the cap screws into and the cap both come off the valve cover. Then it's to the garage and seperate them with the use of wrenches. Be carefull not to crush or break any thing. I was able to take them appart by hand once off the vehicle by spraying some Triflo lube into the cap threads from what was the inside of the engine side. After you have seperated the cap from the tube it is time to put it back together. Clean the valve cover and valve cover end of the tube. There is a gasket to be aware of and cleaned. If the gasket is shot I'd just get rid of it, but you might want to repalce it. To reassemble, put sealant on the end of the tube that attaches to the valve cover and reinstall the tube. I used contact cement, an old chevy trick to keep things stuck, it is also a good gasket replacement when you never want to take the parts appart. I then put a light coating of anti-seaze on the upper threads and oil filler cap before reinstalling the cap. No problem since. Good Luck Steve |
