I apologize if this has been discussed before, but I couldn't find it in archives or keyword search. I have a 96 SE7 with fog lights. How do you remove the air dam? If I want to remove it permanently, do I have to cut anything? I really want/need to ditch it, but it would be good if I could put it back on if I had to. Is this possible, even? I have been stuggling with this for awhile, so I'd appreciate your help. Pics would be great too. The more info the better. Thanks a lot guys!

You can remove the air dam without cutting -- if memory serves there are 4 bolts you take off and then the whole piece falls right off. You'll want to unhook the fog lights beforehand (the wiring connector is farther up, inside the engine compartment).

However, in order to make it look good you'll have to trim the bumper end caps. Use a Dremel with cutting attachment, or really anything sharp, and follow the line (you'll know what I mean when you look).

Sorry no pics from me -- maybe someone else has them?

Good luck,

Andy

Yes you can take it off in a way that it can be put back but it will look like sh*t. If you follow the line that runs at about half way down and the entire length of the bumper that is the place to cut. It's called the Camel Trophy cut and it will look stock and give you plenty of clearance. I like it better than putting a heavy bumper on. I went with a custom (high clearance) Warn Multi Mount. I will try to post a photo but check out a photo of any Camel Trophy truck.

Good Luck,

It's easy. There are 7 bolts that hold it to the bumper. 13mm if I remember correctly. There's also 8 Philips screws that attach the air dam to the end-caps. Once removed use a Dremel to trim the caps. Hope this helps!

Thanks a ton guys! Thats exactly what I needed. This doesn't need to be the end though, haha. If you have any other thoughts feel free. Thanks again.

Hey there...I have pics of the end result. I just did it not more than a few weeks ago. If you still want pics, let me know.
