I'm not sure what's wrong but , the rear door on my 95 disco is stuck. This problem is intermittant and usually occurs if I use the key instead of the remote to unlock the rear door. Usually after turning the alarm on and off a few times the door will open , howerever it is frustrating in that I don't know what I'm doing to cause this to happen . It feels as though there is a child safety lock engaged and the handle on the inside and the outside just moves freely without opening the door. Anyone out there with an explanation for this ? Thanks in advance. Ken |

Not sure why it happens, but it's an easy fix. I have the same problem on my 95, I think it might be all the dust that get kicked up near the the rear of the vehicle. Pop the rover emblem out of the handle housing (there is a slot on the bottom of the emblem where a standard screwdirver will fit). Spray the latch and spring mech. with WD-40 and work the handle several times to loosen things up. Lube up the lock mech (inside rear door jam) as well I use 3 in 1 Oil for this. |

I've found that the door is more likely to get stuck if you lock it with it open and then close it. Try making sure it is closed when ever you lock it and see if this helps. I used a bunch of WD40 inside the mechanism too. |

I had the same problem on a 95. See bryan's answer, that'll fix it. |
