Some bastard stole 4 of my 5 Land Rover valve stem covers today at work. At first I was thinking it was a kid, but why would they steal 4 of the 5 unless it was a rover owner with a spare tire cover? Hmmmm????

Anyway, sure hope there are no unscrupulous rover drivers in the Philly suburbs.

Sucks, but guess I won't spend another $20 for someone other than me to have nice pretty stem covers. Also guess it means I'll have to take the shakles off or they will probably be gone next.

Cheers,

Greg P.

I did put a lock on the receiver pin, but the shackel will still come off fairly easily wont it?

Prolly the same Rover enthusiast who stole my Land Rover Albuquerque Kangaroo rear tire cover.

You see that item in Philly let me know, and I'll pay a visit with my .45

If the pin screws in, tighten real good with tools that way it will require tools to remove it.

Just decided to take them off last night. I'll store them inside and use when needed I guess.

Thats what's on there now. I bought the LR ones when I bought the Disco because I thought they were neat. Apparently I wasn't alone.

I now have regular old black plastic ones on my 4 tires, and the one LR that was left is on the spare. Guess I should take bets on how long it will last.......

Roverfest is back on again. Doug B told me this weekend. It will not be run by WCRC this time though, but will still be at Bear Mtn. Another new VT based club took on the job.

Replace them with some of those stem caps with dice on them, as I've seen on one Disco driving around near where I work :)

...then again, depending on where you live, you may be asking for those to get stolen LOL

Well, I did have my suspicions that it was you Kyle, but I kept them to myself ...

This thievery has me very upset, but I've come up with a brilliant plan to keep my (overly stretched out, LOL, yeah I'm a dork) spare tire cover from being swiped ... I'm just going to GLUE it onto my spare tire with marine glue/cement ... That'll show 'em!

Yep, and of all things, I usually park in the rear of my building, but yesterday my CEO and I went for a ride in the rover and when we returned, he parked in his reserved spot up near the street. I don't know if it was kids or another rover driver, but it is strange that they only took four of the five. they must have started at the front left wheel and walk around as the spare was missing, but the front right one was still there.

The funny thing is, that life must have a reason for things, cause the one they left was leaking air out of the valve stem insert, so by leaving it, my tire stayed full until I could get a new insert put in yesterday afternoon. Otherwise, I probably would have come out to a flat in addition to the missing caps.

Oh well.....

:)

Yeah, that cover is cheesy, but I had to have it to pass inspection in PA. As for the stickers, it looks really wierd having no stickers on the window ron broke out... like there's a gaping hole.

Alyssa,

That sounds like a good spot for Ron to ride........ With the stickers gone he would still have a view out of the dog house! :)

Thieves are stupid. During the ad-rush the theif was experiencing while taking your valve stem caps, he/she didn't think of the spare.

When some a-hole stole my Hella 4000's he/she cut the wiring in half to remove them from my ARB..... Also when the Heroin addict/Crack head in B-More City smashed my rear window to get a CD organizer off of my rear seat, he/she could've just opened my door, the doors were unlocked.....
Now if I could just talk to the IDIOT with that Blue DiscoS1, who I'm sure walked into my yard and took my Genuine LR Brushgaurd from the back patio...You fool, it was for my RR Classic, not the Disco!

yeah, 94Rover needs some heads on spikes in his yard to, you know, get the message across. I have a "Beware of Mentally Disturbed Homeowner" sign on my front door....Jehova's witnesses don't even come by any more.
