I installed my 2" HD Rovertym springs a few weeks back and all has been good till now. I measured a whopping 22" from center of wheel to lip of wheel well for the first few weeks. This was with arb installed, and the rear end full of weight. Suddenly this morning I happen to measure and I'm down to:

21.25 front left
20.30 rear left
20.50 rear right
21.25 front right

Whats going on? Thats less than 2" in rear with really no extra weight today as the back is empty and a 1/4" over in the front with no change in weight.

Are they gonna keep sinking? I was under the impression that the rovertym springs stayed taller than the OME springs. My rear are getting into OME range now. What will happen when I add weight? I'm very dissapointed.

What are you other rovertym spring users seeing before I call John @ rovertym to cry?

Thanks, Greg

John

Greg, the stock center of wheel to fender lip is 18"...if you have 21 1/4" front and and 20.4 rear you are right where you should be with a 2" lift.
If you have concerns call me.

They were brand new from Rovertym. I emailed John for his opinion a moment ago.

John,

I measured 19" on my 2001 DII on stock springs from center of wheel to lip of fender. Based on the information I found on discoweb, it sounds like the average lift on OME gives 20.5 to 21 on a DII. And I don't understand why the rear dropped so much when there is no weight back there and the springs are rated so high? The front is carrying the ARB and it only dropped 3/4 of an inch. Do you have to put 3" springs on to keep the height between 21 and 22?

Anyone got measurements to compare?

Thanks,

Greg

PS - I'm not knocking Rovertym as I really like John and his products, this is just my first time with a lift and not sure what to expect.

Well any spring is gonna settle in Greg reguardless of manufacturer. And its probably gonna settle in when you carry some weight in it. When you unload it , it just wont return back to as high as it was before hand. As long as you still have the advertised lift I really see nothing to complain about...

Greg,

I have John's HD 2" springs for my D1. I bought RR4 and RR1 springs to be exact. Sunday I installed John's 1" aluminum spacers in the rear only and it measures 22" in the rear and 2o.5 in the front. Before the spacers I sat fairly level at 21" rear and 20.5" to 20.75" front. I was drooping in the rear when fully loaded so I got the spring spacers.

I think you are right where you should be for a D2. Get some spacers for the rear and front if you want to shore it up now that they've settled some.

Thanks for the info. Ron. John @ rovertym has been most helpful and offered to work with me to make sure I am happy. My only concern, having never experienced a lift before, was the rate at which the drop occurred. My email back to John indicated I'm going to watch them for a few more weeks and see what they do, then decide if I want to leave-them-be, change them out, or consider spacers as you mentioned.

PS - Are those bullet holes in your right door?

Thanks,

Greg

All,

I've had the 2" RTEs in for a few weeks now and am real happy. Like all springs, they have settled, but not much and right where they should be IMO. I am too lazy to measure the exact distance, but its roughly 2 to 2.25+ inches over stock, I'm running stock bumpers. Real pleased with the ride.

NC-TN line, it's an ORV-area. Sweet.......

Find Tellico Plains, TN, on a map, south of Madisonville (which is between Knoxville and Chattanooga).... It's between Tellico Plains and Robbinsville, NC.
