Gents, Don't rape me on this if I am asking a real dumbshi* question (I am new to LR ownership). How are you terra warriors getting the fill plug on the transfer case of a 97 Disco out?!!?!?!?! My ratchet is too big (yeah, right) and won't fit in the small space. I am trying to change the fluids out. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Jay |

Clean any crap out of the square hole, and try different angles. It's tricky, but it will fit. You are using a ratchet without a socket, right? The drain plug in your diff is the same size, so test fit your ratchet on that plug first. |

I used a 1/2" drive breaker bar which has more room. |

Just did this Saturday. As I loosened the (clean)fill plug, the ratchet and plug pressed together enough to clear whatever was in the way. Clean out the threads (male and female) and hand tighten as far as you can, and fit the ratchet back in for final tightening. (or maybe I just put the plug on the ratchet and held it in place with one hand, held the ratchet up to the case with another hand and turned the head of the ratchet with another hand?) Anyhow IT CAN BE DONE!! Stevecz |

Just did this on my 95 last night. I couldn't get a breaker bar in there to save my life, but I could just get a ratchet in there. I found that once I initially broke it loose, it spun out very easily. |

Thanks, Gents. I will give it a try. I was glad to see that I was not the only one having a problem with this. By the way--I just installed the U-haul wiring harness mentioned in a previous post. Guess what. Worked like a charm and looks great. Thanks for all the advise. Jay |
