I am considering buying brush guards for my 99 Disco II. Does anyone have any suggestions for which type is best, and where to buy them or have them installed? (I'm in Southern Cali) Thanks. |

For what purpose do you have the brush guards in mind? Only asking because if it is for 4 wheelin' (especially here in SO CAL) FWIW, I've found they can sometomes be a bit more of a hindrance ... With the lower front end of the Disco, (especially with air damn & fog lights if you have them) the brush guards can more often than not rotate (sometimes into your fenders, depending upon what kind of bar you put on) and can take away from approach and departure angles. I have no experience with rear ones, never could figure out what they are for. If it's just for light to moderate offroad stuff, they're probably fine. I have not had too much trouble with mine, have had to adjust it, and continuosly tighten the bolts. I also mounted lights in mine (while I am waiting to buy a HD bumper). Sorry I cannot really recommend anyone nearby personally for these guards, (I bought the truck with a brushbar already on it) but I would reccommend that you go to the "resources" section of this site (see above) and look through the many links to vendors. There are several in SO CAL as well. Kim |

Oh yeah, almost forgot to mention, for offroad purposes, I do know that the way the genuine LR brushbar mounts (the one that wraps around front fender) it covers and kind of interferes with your front recovery points. Just my .02 cents worth ... Kim |
