Anybody check out the newest LROI? Seems the slinky thing has made it to the UK. Don't remember the exact quote, but LROI called it the most capable Defender they had seen and talked about how stable it was because it had non-retained rear springs and lots of travel.

I saw that link a couple of weeks ago while doing some parts hunting, nothing really new. Seems like a fad more so over there then here since all they have is mud right?

The thing that surprised me was that it was in the UK. The thing that made me chuckle was that the LROI and UK arguement was used against slinkys at one point. I just thought it was funny that LROI was praising it so much. Then again, I have never seen anything negative in that magazine about anything Rover or any mods done to them.

I think there is more than just "greenlaning" in the UK. It seems that there are some private competitions which are seeing more of the type of terrain that would make people think slinky.

LOL. The marketing is tacky, although some of those componets look interesting.

Well, it is interesting that they do it w/out any cones or anything. The spring just hangs out there in the air when the axle drops. It's a "virtual" quiet cone.

A little stealing of US advertising approaches gone awry.
