Following a thread on the rro-list, has anyone installed bonnet louvers? I am continually amazed - or should that be *appalled* - at the level of under-hood heat. That much heat *can't* be good, eh? Then again, I have yet to try cooking on the engine like I've done with the Series III many times.

Several folks have mentioned installing louvers or having the local speed shop stamp/cut them out of the existing metal. As I am going to be repainting the bonnet soon (and replacing the lettering), now seems like a good time.

Got plenty of ship chandlers and/or marine supply places around here like BOAT/US and West for SS louvers (which I'll paint to match the bonnet), but are there any other options people have tried?

...it's just too bleedin' hot....

Have a look at my '91 Disco hood vents, go to http://discovery4wd.com, go to the navigator pulldown menu, click on mods, then run your mouse over the hood on the right side of the photo and when the word vents comes up, click!
