I'll be replacing my rear break lines with the addition of a RTE 2inch lift kit. I read my Haynes manual and it seemed fairly simple. I then read the article on spanishtrailrover.com and am lost. I try to do all my own work on my truck but can anyone tell me what exactly to expect? I'm just trying to figure out if I can do this (SAFELY) by myself. Thanks, James |

its very easy... its as simple as you think... just have some little ribber caps, or something to put on the end when you undo them at the rear axle to keep the brak fluid from draining out and making a mess.. The clips that retain the outer ends can be a bit of a bitch to get off depending on how much mud is caked up in there. |

Do I have to bleed all four breaks when I change out the rear lines? Thanks, James |

Yes. But not just because of the lines being replaced. Brake fluid is a routine replacement item, but as it's outta' sight,.....it's forgotten often. Flush the entire system. 3 qts of DOT4 will do it. Allow a coupla'hours, it's tedious if by yourself. Help will make it much less, a pressure bleeder($) even less time. cheers-doug |
