I just put new brakes all around on my 95 disco and for a while they were perfect untill they started squeaking very loud when i was off roading. I didnt think anything of it just humm I guess theres mud in my breaks so when I got home I washed it really good and pressure washed my brakes. I did the trick but about 4 days later they started squeaking again. They seem to only squeak when the rotors warm up but i dont know. I've tried everything i could think of to fix it but no use. please help its not like its an big deal just really annoying. thanks

Someone on another post within the last few days (I think it was a thread I started but don't recall the subject line) mentioned a silicone spray that can be used... might be worth hunting a bit for.

my brakes are doing the same thing. Occassionally when i come to a stop at low speeds a noise in the interior like an electronic sound or something comes on. Almost the sound when you don't have it all the way in or out of differential lock. More a buzzing sound though. Any idea what that is? Anti-Lock light comes on for a minute or two and goes off about 2 times a week.

Garrett, I have the same problem. Someone mentioned to me that there was a recall for something regarding the ABS sensor thing. Look for a thread regarding brakes. They told me to go to a dealer and have them take a look.

What kind of brake pads did you use? I only run oem Land Rover brake pads. Non oem pads are to hard on the rotor.

I have the DBA rotors and matching pads. Mine do it offroad when I am in a very dusty environment... I think with the DBA they are just a harder pad then normal American pads. Someone correct me if I am wrong but hard pads have a tendency to be louder then soft pads.. but they last longer.

I reglazed my pads and used Brake cleaner everywhere. It stopped most of my squeaking. I still a little sqeak here and there, but a little Brake cleaner once in a while keeps it quiet for long enough to not bother me. That's my $4 solution. That's safe right? haha

Most of the time squeaky brakes are caused by the pads virbration. The silicone spray lubricates the back of the pad and keeps it from squealing. I've never used it (never had a need to) but might try it on my audi as it's developed a terrible shriek after I changed the pads over to some mintex red box (which were of a softer compound than those of which I replaced).

I bled the brake lines and replaced the fluid and the squeaking stopped. So there is my cure. 108500 miles and still going.
