D2: The cigarette lighter outlets in the back of the D2 are smaller than the front one. Some appliances fit in the back, and some don't. And the lighter only fits in the front. I always thought they are standard one size no? |

You can fit it in there if you push it real hard, that's how I do it anyway. I have an ARB adventure light that I use in that plug several times a week. The only problem is that when you pull out the plug the entire thing comes out along with the plug. This actually makes it easier the next time you plug something into it, because you can just hold onto it. I'm about to hard wire that plug, so I'm going to see if it can be replaced with the same size as the front. Actually, I'd REALLY like to have 2 of them back there, that sure is a handy spot for plugs! |

Jaime, Ummm, I pushed like a bastard and there's no way. They are just different sizes, although its hard to believe there are two, especially on the SAME VEHICLE LOL. |

I'm guessing here, but I think the smaller socket that you've got is probably what we in Europe call a DIN socket. DIN being the term (no idea what it stands for?) used over here to describe a standardised size of fixture or fitting. For example: The Discovery stereo head unit fits into a 'DIN' sized aperture to allow you to swap it with any other type of ICE system. To plug into the DIN socket, you'll need a DIN type plug. Any decent Hella stockist will be able to supply you with the correct parts. FWIW DIN plug and sockets are far better than the cigar lighter type as they 'lock' into place, thereby offering a far more secure connection. |

i am telling you guys, the front is a cigar lighter (a cigar is, afterall bigger than a cigarette)(and that is why your *cigarette* adapter stuff fits a little loose) and the rear is just your regular, standard cigarette lighter (which is why the adapter fits just fine). do a google search for "auto cigar lighter" and you will get listings for car accessories *and* both cigar and cigarette lighters. just bend the contacts on the sides out a little and power away (but before you come back and yell at me, be carefull not to break the contact off because you bent it too much or too fast. be gentle)... |

DIN is a German National Standard widely accepted in Europe. It stands for something like Deutsche Institute fur Normung (German Institute for Norming/Norms/Normalization). But I have no clue whether the you have a DIN socket or a cigarette lighter socket. ;) |
