Front end popping

When I first start out at a light or wherever, there is a popping noise and the truck feels like it is grabbing, slipping, grabbing, slipping and then it's fine. My front swivel pin area has been leaking and I am working on that today if I can. Any ideas on the problem? Thanks! Better stop driving it. Or you will damage the ball. I just ordered a whole used axel for $125 from British Specialized. There number is 1-888-908-7575.
