So I have owned my 97 disco for 8 months now. And every once in a while I try to start it and nothing happens, I let it sit and it fires up. Now just lately sometimes I try to start it and it cranks but nothing happens. I let it sit and it will start right up. Any suggestions.
Thanks

Check the battery cable for buldges and green corrosion in the cable.

When you say it cranks, do you mean it's spinning the flywheel but not turning over the motor? Or is the starter spinning, but not engaging?

You've got ignition issues if the starter is engaging and the truck just cranks and cranks without firing up...

You've got a starter that acts like many have when they get older, if it spins without engaging...

check to see if the check engine light comes on. if it doesn't come on when you turn the key on the computer will not deliver fuel. i had this similar problem. eventually the ecu took a shit. check the reference voltage as well. it is 5v. hope this helps.
