Hello Everyone, I'm a little embarrased to ask this but does anyone know how to properly enter the radio security code for a 1999 Disco I? I've have the actual code but can't seem to enter it in properly. I've already looked on this site for other postings but haven't found any & I've read through my manual and the instructions they provided didn't help either. If anyone has any insight or information I'd really appreciate it. Feel free to email me at [email protected] Sincerely, Joseph John Fulay |

Jose, I have 1995 DI. Last time I went to dealer and ask them to reset my code because I changed my battery. Then, they ask me to open the radio for at least one hour before I input the new code. You can try this and wish it can help. hao

Joseph, I have a '97 so I don't know if its the same as yours. When the radio is turned on and the display says code, enter the code using the station preset buttons. If you enter it correctly, the radio works. If you screw up in the middle of entering the code, enter the remaining numbers so that you enter the number of entries that the readio expects. Then wait until it displays code, and enter again. If you screw it up 3 times, I think you have to wait a while (maybe an hour) before you can try again. |

1.Turn ignition switch to accessories. Turn unit on , digit 1 will appear in display. 2. Via the 6 memory buttons, enter code. As each digit is entered in turn, each digit will appear in the display. 3. If the code is entered correctly the unit will operate after a five second delay. Refer to Operating Instructions handbook to store your selected AM & FM stations in the 6 memory address buttons. Unit will not be required to re-released unless disconnected from power or vehicles's battery is disconnedted. If after 5 seconds delay the unit does not operate, the digit 2 will aqppear in the display. 4. Enter code numbers again. If after 5 seconds delay the unit still does not operate, digit 3 will appear indicating codes to be entered again. 5. If incorrect conde numbers are entered for a third time, the display unit shows ---- as an indication that the unit must be left one hour with power connected before codes can be entered again. |

Call your dealership or a dealership and ask the service department for the right sequence on your model. On mine if the incorrect code has been entered 3 times the system thinks it has been stolen and will not turn on unless you turn the key to the on position, leave it for one hour and fifteen minutes then enter the correct code again. I just had to do this last weekend and it worked for me but my radio might be different than yours. |
