I did it last weekend. Really easy to do. On mine I needed a metric allen wrench and some patience. Go under the car to the back of the transfer case. Right before the drum brake for the emer. brake you will see a black box that runs off of the shaft. A wiring harness will run in to this. Pry off the harness and then about 1" above the plug will be the allen bolt that needs to be removed. Once this is out of the way the sensor will come right off. Now when you place the new one on make sure the input shafts line up (dont ask how I know this duh!)once this is done just rebolt and replace the wiring harness. Glad it is over with. Busy weekend replacing all O2 sensors, Edelbrock shocks, speed sensor, and a CB lift to go along with it. Don C 96 SE7 |

I just recently replaced mine as well. It wasn't difficult, but it did take me a little while to remove the bolt. I found it difficult to reach the bolt. I think a longer allen wrench might make it easier. The wrench I used was about six inches long. Putting it all back together went quickly for me. A secondary good results was that the crawling and wiggling around under my Disco released a pinched nerve that had been bothering me for weeks! |
