I brought this up in another post, but some folks might have missed it. The positive battery cable on my wife's 95 DI rotted off at the starter. Now that I'm trying to replace it, it seems no one has the exact same cable. The cable that rotted had TWO leads coming off the battery clamp - one to the starter and one to a fuse box adjacent to the battery. Anyone have that same cable on their DI? I have it on my 94 as well, but I can't find a new one anywhere. Any ideas? Any wrecks out there looking to sell theirs? Called AB, RN, and my local LR dealer - nada. Someone with an early DI wanna pop their hood and tell me I'm not crazy? Stumped on Cape Cod... |

OK Guys, it's official - I'm an idiot. Here's the scoop for those who care (which seems to be very few of you)... The positive battery cable found at the vendors listed above IS the proper one. My notion of the twin leads from the battery terminal stems from this: the end of the lead coming from the adjacent fuse box IS the bolt for the positive side battery clamp. In other words, instead of a crimped end terminal, the bolt for the battery post clamp serves as the connector for the fuse box lead. I hope someone other than me finds this useful. It was kinda hard to see with a greasy flashlight and mosquitos dining on me... Thanks anyway, Chuckster |
