From the Daily Telegraph (boy do those prices scare me......but then ALL Uk prices are a rip off

The Discovery range is to be enhanced with the ISOFIX child seat fixing system and Automatic Drive-Away Locking across the range.

New terrain: Discovery gets tweaks
XS and ES get centre-locking differential which distributes engine power between the driving axles, reducing the risk of wheel slip.

Prices across the range rise slightly, to £22,195 for the five-seat Td5 E, to £34,590 for the seven-seat V8 ES.

I thought the UK already had CDL in the 2003 as an option. Or have the British been screwed like the North Americans in 2003? I also thought ISOFIX/ LATCH been available since 2002? Or has Land Rover been late to the game on the child restraints.

Are your diesels typically less expensive in the UK than petrol? I noticed 12,000GBP difference and I know that the 2 additional seats did not make that difference.
In the US, diesel options are usually more. In the Dodge RAM that I looked at, the dealer wanted 2000USD more for the Cummins diesel than the V10 petrol. But this is Texas after all. Trucks do command a premium price here.
One of my co-workers bought a VW Beetle with diesel and paid more than for gas engine but the mileage is phenominal. 54MPG.

Oz cars have the CDL as standard, I thought that's the way they were all round the world. The local magazines slated LR for removing it on the S2 cars and many local shops made up kits to convert them back to D1 spec. The advertising for the 2003 says the CDL is back as standard. You blokes should move to Australia TD5's, V8's CDL,Defender 90 ,110 and 130 what ever you want

CDL remains a cost option on all UK spec 2003 Discoverys. Current list price: £260 or to you guys: $415
FWIW: In the UK, the Discovery Commerical (2-seat van model) costs almost a £1000 MORE than the base spec 5 seater Discovery... That's an expensive lump of timber.

Here's more: http://www.imakenews.com/autospies/e_article000175441.cfm.

Yeah, Shaun, with things going to Hell here in California, I wish I were in Australia too. And the first thing I'd do would be to shop for a diesel 90.
