I decided that my exhaust is the source of my strange noises recently so I've decided to replace my exhaust. I'd like to get, and need, a whole new exhause kit, so I was hoping to get some opinions on what to get and who has the best prices. Thanks.

I ordered the standard exhaust system from Atlantic British. $269. Muffler, Pipe, resonator and U-clamps. the hanger hooks are welded on to the muffler and resonator, you can also get replacement bushings for a couple of bucks apiece.

The alternatives are a falcon Stailess Steel clad exhaust for $550 with a lifetime warranty, or a Borla stainless steel exhaust for $549 with a million mile guarantee, also available from Atlantic British.

I figured there's a good chance that I'll smack my exhaust on a rock, so I went with the cheap one.

The Land Rover genuine is around $350 with a 1 year warranty.

Don't you guys have a local Exhaust shop that can make a nice free flowing big bore system.

Mark,
I just got mine done Cat back in stainless with a Magnaflow muffler, no resonator (you dont need it) and stainless tip, installed, out the door with tax for $430. Local custom exhaust shop near where I live. They did a really good job and were great to deal with. Had the car done in about two hours. I wouldn't spend the money on the pre-made stainless kits like Falcon, Borla or NRP. They are too expensive in my opinion. The $549 for Falcon and Borla are for Cat back only. A full setup like you are talking about will run you$1300 parts alone if you go that route. I didn't check, but had I needed the whole system done from the guys I had do the back part, it might have run me a total of $800 for a full stainless system with performance Cats. Hope this helps.

Check out www.dap-inc.com. They are in Vermont.
I ordered about 2 weeks ago
Cat-back (muffler, pipe, resonator)
$159 + about 25 shipping. 2 days to Western NY.
Midas could "special order" for about $400
LR part # - same as Atlantic British

The NRP system is expensive, but it's very well built, stainless steel, and delivers a palpable boost in power. Has a nice resonance but doesn't sound loud like a redneck with a Flowmaster in a Chevy pick up.

I recently added mufflers in my shop and did my 96 with a Magnaflow and took off the resonator. It sounded GREAT with just a nice deep tone and seemed to have better response. I'm going to do a cool air intake next with a K&N cone filter.

The LR already has 2 1/4 pipe so unless your pipes are rusted, all you'll need to do it is replace the stock muffler with the Magnaflow and remove the resonator and add a short extension out to the back.
As good as it sounds, part of my experimenting I might try a Flowmaster next to hear the difference. If you happen to be in or near the Sacramento Ca area, let me know.
